Information on dosage
The generic for Aricept must be started at a low dose of 5 mg. after a period of 4 t o 6 weeks; the drug can be gradually increased to 10 mg. To increase the dosage to 23 mg per day, the patient must be on 10mg for a period of minimum 3 months.
Aricept must be taken as advised by the physicians in the exact dose. Do not take a dosage more than prescribed.
Aricept should be taken with a glass full of water, with or without food intake.

Missed dose
If you miss taking a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If you have almost reached the time for the next dose, skip the old dose and continue with the scheduled dose. Do not take double dose to compensate the missed dose as it may cause and overdose. An over dose of Aricept can cause nausea, vomiting, sweating, giddiness, slow heart beat, slow and shallow breath, muscle weakness and seizures too. Reach out for your doctor or emergency treatment in cases of over dose.
Storage
Generic Aricept should be stored in room temperature. Keep away from moisture and sunlight. Also keep away from the reach of children.
Side effects of Aricept
Seek medical help if you notice rashes, swelling on lips, face, throat, or tongue, and difficulty in breathing. If you notice black or bloody stools, or notice blood in cough or brown dark expectorant, difficulty in urination, or convulsions, stop the medication and immediately consult your doctor.
