How Does generic Boniva work?

Boniva generic can be classified into the category of medications called bisphosphonates. The patient must also inform the doctor about conditions like vitamin D deficiency, kidney diseases, and stomach ulcer and about the other medications that she is already taking before she is prescribed the medication.

There have been cases where people taking other medicines akin to Boniva have suffered loss of bone in the jaws. What are the side effects of Boniva?

The less serious side effects include headaches, pain in the back, redness and swelling of the eyes, loose motions, queasiness or stomach upset, slu-like symptoms or pain in the legs or arms.

What happens if a dose is missed?

If the patient has forgotten to take the medication the first thing in the morning, it should not be taken later that day. It should be taken first thing in the morning the next day only. Two tablets should never be taken together in a day.

If the patient is on the once a month dosage and forgets to take it on the prescribed date, it should be taken first thing in the morning the day after she has remembered that she has missed the dose. However if the next dose is only a week away from the missed dose, skip the missed dose and wait until the week is over to take the scheduled dose. Two tablets should never be taken within a week. And if it is the injection that has been missed, talk to the doctor about an appointment for the missed injection.
